Here’s the Matt Le Tissier link referred to in a previous post. We think this is a superb example of high performance thinking and great self-talk (that led, if you recall, to his 48/49 record). If you prefer to read it:
interviewer: “Were you one to suffer from nerves?” MLT: “Not really and I think that’s why my penalty record was so good. I actually looked forward to taking them rather than getting all nervous because you might miss.It’s all about positive thinking and blocking out the negatives.”
The key principle here is about using your mind as your greatest asset and not your greatest enemy.
